- The "S" version (1974) of the miniKORG has and additional oscillator and panel of goodies to the left of the keyboard.
- The original miniKORG700 was the first product to bear the "KORG" name back in 1973, even though the company name was still Keio Electronic Organ back then.
- The original was designed to sit on larger products such as organs, in a way that put the control right in front of the user. The designer, Fumio Mieda, still works at the company today
